Nick Mombourquette, BBA, CEBS
Founder & President
I began working in the financial sector in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island after graduating from Mount Saint Vincent University. It’s not only where I was introduced to the industry—it’s where I found my passion for helping people.
Early in my career, I was fortunate to find an incredible mentor who taught me the importance of finding purpose in my work. This is how I came to find my passion for serving the non-profit community.
Anyone can sell a group benefits program or an insurance policy, but that’s not what I set out to do. I take time to develop relationships and really get to know people. That’s how I determine how I can add real value to your business, agency or personal life.
With over twelve years experience and the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation, I bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to help solve your most challenging employee benefits and corporate planning situations.
I have a beautiful wife and together we have three wonderful children--they are my pride and joy. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, furthering my education, playing hockey and golf and listening to and playing music.

I began my journey in the financial industry after graduating from the University of Prince Edward Island. Studying business in Charlottetown has been a fantastic learning experience as it taught me about the people and how successful businesses operate.
I am excited to share what I have learned and to give back to the community that I grew up in. I strive to provide value to individuals & businesses both locally and across the country.
Working with many clients over the past few years has taught me the importance of developing relationships which has helped me grow as a person and as an advisor. I work hard every day to achieve my goal of bringing businesses and families down the path to financial success.
When I am not working, I enjoy keeping up to date with the latest tech, developing my professional career by continuing my studies, and hanging out with my friends.

I have over 24 years experience working in the insurance industry, both as an independent advisor and as an employee of one of the largest group insurance carriers in Canada. I enjoy negotiating with insurance carriers to ensure that you have stable long-term employee benefits rates. In my spare time I bounce from rink to rink with my husband and children.

Business Advisor & Leadership Consultant
I work with business owners to help make their businesses work for them. With over 10 years of business coaching experience and 20 years as a health and wellness entrepreneur, I intimately understand the excitement and challenge of the ownership journey. I have effectively navigated internal succession with two of my own companies and have supported many leaders through similar transformational experiences and growth opportunities.
All expressions of my varied career have been defined by the mission of maximizing well being for those I have had the privilege to serve. This sense of purpose has brought me to New Ground where we offer entrepreneurs solutions for all phases of business growth and beyond. Encouraging others to live the life they want and create the legacy they intend is my greatest leadership gift.
As a nature lover, I enjoy as much time in the great outdoors as possible and am committed to supporting conservation efforts and sustainability investments. I also know that health is our most valuable asset and am grateful for building on that foundation.
My most important legacy is raising four amazing children along with my wife Lori. They make every day an invigorating learning experience and an inspiring imperative to keep growing!

I first started working in the insurance industry as a personal lines insurance broker in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, shortly after obtaining my bachelor’s degree from UPEI. I quickly grew an interest in insurance and an even bigger interest in the administrative role of the business.
I worked towards receiving my Executive Administration Certificate to increase my skills and experience. I always aim to provide clients with a positive experience while building and maintaining strong, trusting relationships.
I am a very detail-oriented individual, and I find satisfaction in having structure and order in both my work and personal life.
In my free time, I enjoy playing pickleball, reading, and expanding my culinary skills. I also appreciate my time spent with family and friends.

Advisor & People and Culture Leader
I am thrilled to join the New Ground team, offering my extensive People & Culture consulting, operations management and program management (especially in the insurance industry) experience. Working with employee benefits plans from the client side has given me a depth of understanding of how this important people support asset is best leveraged. I'm excited to be bringing that perspective and wisdom to helping clients find and manage the best plans for their teams.
I am a passionate supporter of small to medium sized businesses and am especially excited to help purpose led businesses create or evolve their social and environmental policies and practices.
In my down time I love golfing, gardening, exercising, reading and cooking - and especially spending time with my husband and 2 adorable Boston Terriers.
